Troops Helping Troops

soldier with carepackage This year, Troop 765 will be running the fourth annual Troops Helping Troops campaign. This very successful campaign includes Boy Scouts getting sponsorships for care packages for our military troops serving overseas. For $25 per care package, including shipping, we are able to fill a box with items our troops need. This year, our goal is to send 125 care packages. Watch here at the fundraising total grows. After less than a week, we are already at $2675 and well on our way to our Goal.

Honor Flight Movie

On November 11, 2013, our troop hosted a showing of Honor Flight at the Jackson Community Center in honor of our Vetrans. the movie was great and was emotional at times. It. Was. Beatuiful. It certinly gave us a glimpse into the lives of vetrans as they are today. Here is a link to the honer flight website.

Another Fall Campout is complete

At Fall Campout this past weekend (Oct 11 – 13, 2013), it was another amazing time to watch our scouts provide fun and engaging programming for the young cub scouts). I talked to many of the Cub Scouts and their parents during the day, and everyone had a great time. Our new Senior Patrol Leader was excellent at keeping the programming running and moving forward. Any time I thought I should check on something, he was two steps ahead of me. That’s great to see. The MC for the campfire did a great job of getting the Cub Scouts fired up and engaged in the skits and songs as well. By the end of the night on Saturday, I knew we had another successful year of Fall Camp.

Thanks to all the scouts to attended and made all the programming successful.

Fall Campout with Pack 3787

Notes from Mr. P

Every fall, I look forward to having the opportunity to watch the entire troop showing off their skills in delivering great scout programming to Pack 3787. From knot tying, outdoorsman, & citizenship to capture the flag, marshmallow launching, & trebuchets. For a scoutmaster, one of the most gratifying things is when you see your scouts using the EDGE method teaching skills they know well.

This year’s events:

  • Minute to Win It – Cub Scout Style
  • Egg Drop
  • Duct Tape Wallets
  • Straw airplanes
  • Marshmallow Tower

On October 12th, I get the honor of watching our Patrol Leader’s Council plan another great Cub Scout fall campout.
