Recipes

This recipe page provides a list of the most common meals we cook on our campouts. To be clear, almost every recipe we cook was taken from somewhere else in scouting. If we knew where it came form, we would definitely give full credit. Our troop original recipes are not copyrighted or protected in any way, so check them out and give them a try.

Buttered Noodle Biscuits (Troop Original)

Another Troop Original coming out of the 2005 Kettle Country District Fall Cook-o-ree was Buttered Noodle Biscuits. In order to create something just a bit different than plain-old biscuits with dinner, the chef decided to add buttered noodles to the biscuit mix. The buttered noodles "added a light buttery flavor, without the greasy texture of buttered biscuits."

Simple Apple Bisquick Cobbler (Troop Original) Recipe

This delicious variation on cobbler was discovered by our troop chef for the 2005 District Cook-o-ree. Our Troop Guide and Life Scout stepped up to the challenge of being the chef; the entire troop helped prepare a three dutch oven extravaganza. Apple Bisquick Cobbler was one of the results.

Cobbler Recipe

The all-time standard in campout deserts. Nothing special to see here, if you know cobbler, move along and don't click.

Sleeping Bag Surprise (Troop Original)

As the name implies, make this side dish to give the scouts a special sleeping bag surprise. It has beans, it has bacon, it has everything.

Texas Hash Recipe

Texas Hash is a tasty ground beef, rice, peppers, onions, celery mixture with great flavor. It's easy to start, run afternoon rank advancement programming and come back to later for dinner.
