Boy Scout Troop 765, Jackson, Wisconsin is a member of the Kettle Country District, Bay Lakes Council, Boy Scouts of America. The troop is chartered by the Jackson Firefighters Association in Jackson, Wisconsin. We meet Tuesday evenings at 6:45pm at the Jackson Fire Department Community Room. The Boy Scouts plan the meetings, the annual calendar, and run a great patrol method scouting program.

The Troop in the Community

Troop 765 works closely with Cub Scout Pack 3787 in Jackson to help them run their Cub Scout program. For example, each year the troop attends a fall campout with the cub scouts, cooks for them, and runs programming all day saturday including rank advancement, fun and games, and a campfire.

Food for Good Turn

This year, Troop 765 collected over 800 food items, which were donated to the Christ Lutheran Church food pantry. We had a great year with over 15 scouts and 6 adults helping in the collection that will hopefully help many needy families through fall and winter.

Den Chiefs

Troop 765 recently awarded another Den Chief Braid to another scout. We now have a total of three trained den chiefs who regularly help out Pack 3787 with their cub scout programming and training.

Troop 765 goes on its first Disc Golf outing

Troop 765 went on a disc golf outing on Saturday, October 13th. The troop was fortunate to have Evan Nicoud, an amatuer tour disc golfer, with us to provide the scouts an initial disc golf training session, and then assist them for 9 holes on the Dreztka Disc Golf Course. After disc golf, the scouts completed the Glacial Blue Hills Orienteering Course in West Bend, WI, completing a first class rank requirement.

Troop 765 has an Eagle Scout in the works

Kyle C has been working on his Eagle Scout Project for a couple weeks now and is nearing completion. He's improving (improving is an understatement) the trail for the West Bend High School outdoor classroom. Working with the School District, Kyle was able to develop a plan to open the trail, lay wood chips, and build walking platforms in wet areas so that the trail is easy to walk throughout the school year. Kyle expects to finish the his work by the end of September and begin the Eagle Board of Review process.

Troop 765 has first family campout

Troop 765 usually goes on troop campouts, geared at running Boy Scout programming. This year, we decided to take advantage of Camp Twin Lakes new Family Camp. The council has created a great family camp with new showers and bathrooms, huge campsites, and an affordable price. The reviews were excellent from all the families who went on the campout. We'll most likely schedule another family campout next year.
