Fish Derby

Every year, the troop helps the Village of Jackson with the annual Fish Derby. Scouts in the troop provide assistance to younger participants, run the casting competition, and other support.

Canoe Campout

This campout is mandatory for scouts participating in the Bounbary Waters high adventure trip in order to prepare and train for the high adventure. The troop will spend the weekend at Astigo Park in Dodge county learning how to launch, paddlee, and portage a canoe.

All scouts must complete a swim test prior to this event.

Memorial Day Ceremony

Scouts should meet at Last Home Cemetery for the ceremony.

Each year, American Legion Post 486 invites the Troop to participate in their Memorial Day Ceremony at Last Home Cemetery located on Hwy P and Cedar Dreek Rd in Jackson, WI. After the ceremony, the legion invites everyone to the Jackson Community Center for donuts, milk, and coffee. Mr. P has been a member of the American Legion for over 10 years, and always appreciates it when the scouts can make it.

Trail Service Project

Each year, the troop does a service project of re-chipping the trail that was built by an Eagle Scout in the troop. We invite all scouts, and their parents to come help out.

Tools to bring that will help:

Wheel barrels, Pitch forks, Garden rakes, Gloves, Water Bottle (filled)

Cost: none

All Scouts will get credit for service hours toward rank advancement.

2012 Summer Camp

Week long summer camp from Sunday, Jul 15 - Saturday, Jul 21

This year, the troop is going to Bear Paw Scout Camp for summer camp. Bear Paw is great because it has a lake, giving scouts the opportunity for boating, canoeing, and sail boating. It is a mess hall camp, meaning that the scouts do not have to cook at this camp.

High Adventure

Week long High Adventure Trip from Sunday, Aug 12 - Saturday, Aug 18

Boyscouts of age 13+ and rank First Class+ are going to a canoe trip in the Boundry Waters.

Mountain Biking

The troop will travel to a mountain biking area, providing opportunities for beginner mountain biking through advanced, technical mountain biking. Lunch will be provided on the trip. The is an off road mountain biking experience, and proper bikes will be required. As well, a helmet is mandatory.

Adventure Rock Climbing

The troop will go to Adventure Rock for an evening of rock climbing. All ages and skill levels are welcome to attend - the gym has easy to very difficult climbs. All gear is provided, but it is recommended that you wear loose fitting pants and a t-shirt under your class A uniform so that you'll be more comfortable on the climb.

Sunburst Tubing

Klondike and Polar Bear

This is where scouts (and adults) freeze while sleeping overnight during winter, and compete in events such as compass skills, Atlatas throwing, and snowsnake throwing.
