Kyle C and Anthony P, two of our Life Scouts, recently completed their ordeal for the Order of the Arrow. The Order of the Arrow is the Boy Scouts of America's national honor society for experienced campers, based on Native American traditions, and dedicated to the ideal of leadership and cheerful service.
Anthony said "I'm excited to become a member of the Order of the Arrow because it allows me to demonstrate that you can give a good hand in service and seal a bond in trust for life."
In order to become a member of the Order of the Arrow, a boy scout must actively participate in their scout troop, help their community and fellow scouts through service, be approved by their Scoutmaster, and be elected by their fellow scouts.
"I have such high regard for both Tony and Kyle as young men and as leaders. Being inducted into the Order of the Arrow is a strong testament towards their leadership of fellow Scouts through friendship and as mentors. Membership in the Order of the Arrow cannot be achieved without the support of their fellow Scouts, and I am very proud of the both of them." said Don Weigend, the Committee Chairperson for Troop 765.
