Klondike '05 - Sled Judging Competition

2006 Klondike Sled Award

Mr. P told the troop to "bring it" for the district Klondike event on Feb 4, 2006; Troop 765 brought it. For the fourth time in a row, the troop came home from a district/council event with awards. This time, the troop won the klondike sled judging competition. The sled was judged on design originality and complexity, decoration, construction, durability, and practicality.

Scouts in the troop started preparing to build the sled months before the event by brainstorming many sled designs before deciding on their final klondike sled design. A scout in the troop drew the designs, and with supplies donated, the scouts built the sled. In the end, the sled worked very well for storing gear, cooking lunch, and running along the klondike trail.
