Troop History

Troop 765 was created from an outgrowth of Troop 787

Troop 765, Kettle Country District, Bay Lakes Council was started in April of 2005. It was originally chartered by Chirst Lutheran Church and meets at the church on Main St in Jackson, Wisconsin. The troop changed chartered organizations in January 2007 to the Jackson Firefighter's Association.

The troop's members initially came from Boy Scout Troop 787 - Jackson, Wisconsin, which is chartered by American Legion Post 486. As the Jackson community grew, so did the scouting activity, enabling the creation of Troop 765 out of Troop 787.

Since the troop's start, they have been a highly active and visible troop within the community and the Bay Lakes Council. Check out the Awards page to see some of the awards that they've won in their first few years. As well, the troop publishes it's favorite recipes, some of them created by our scouts, on the recipes page. The Apple Bisquick Pie recipe has won two awards for the troop: 2005 Fall Camporee, and the 2006 Summer Camp Cook-off.

As well, the troop has always been run by the Patrol Leader's Council with little input from the adult leadership. They use the Boy Scout Program Helps to select their monthly themes and direct programming.
