Bowline Knot
The bowline is also known as the rescue knot. It has many uses to fasten a line down. It's easy to untie the knot when not under load, but does not easily slip when loaded. This month, Troop 765 will focus on tying the bowline know, as well as the one-handed bowline for experienced scouts.
There's another site that has excellent step by step animated bowline knot that may also help you figure out what you're missing if you're having trouble with the bowline.
